How could anyone have that many points? Also if you have $100 and $200 dollars worth of gift cards then why wouldn't you use them? I am new on this site and don't want to be offensive at all. I just am wondering how this could possibly work. Your auction is the coolest I have seen so far!

well--I am not rich,but I am very fortunate and blessed enough to have a job, while there are many many people out there that do not have a job. I very often will pick up an extra shift or two (I am a nurse) for extra $$ to get things that I want to list on here.
So, I like to list things that I know that are unattainable for some folks, and that will really help them out. Gives them a chance to get some nice gifts for their family or useful things for themselves. There are many Listia members who are relying on the success of their auctions to help finance their holidays this year. As far as the giftcards, I bought them specifically to list them to earn credits. I do not need the gift cards. Earning credits helps me get things I'd rather have and in turn someone else gets a nice fat gift card from me. It is possible to amass a large amount of credits--it can and has been done. Basically you just list things and save up your credits. That's a wise thing to do. Listia has many rewards auctions as well as specials. The next one will be on Monday 11/30/2010. I suggest you stay logged onto Listia for the entire day on Monday and see what phenomenal things they are giving away. I've personally won a brand new Kindle & Xbox 360 slim in the past. Others have won brand new TV's and pool tables and what not. Listia is a lot of fun, but with fun comes responsibility, fair trading and fair business practices. Take some time to acquaint yourself to the site, read rules, ask questions. Its going to take a little bit of patience and hard work in the beginning, but you'll love it. I have only been here for 7 months, while the site has been active since August 2009, I believe. Its been a blessing for me and to many others.

I listed a $50 winner's choice gift card last week and no one came and commented and said it was awesome..why is this so different?? i too offered bonuses..and it still only ended at 10,550...am i doing something wrong??? thanks for any imput

I looked at your GC auction http://www.listia.com/auction/1130294 , matter of fact, all of your listings are fabulous, and you have been far busier than me since you joined Listia. I joined in mid April and you in the end of May and you are a listing queen.

no way! I was wondering if that iPad listing was a scam or not. The seller was bidding aggressively on someone's Michael Kors perfume and stated that he needed it right away for a gift in the comments section. I just got an odd feeling from the whole situation.....

Yeah, I thought it was strange as well. It was supposedly "new in box" and he had made a comment the night before it was scheduled to end stating that he was thinking about removing it because of "negative comments" and then the next day he posts a comment saying that a friend of his had dropped it while checking it out and the screen broke. Why in the world would you have someone else touching an item that is supposedly new in box and you KNOW that you will have to ship out to someone that very next day! Seemed VERY fishy to me.

wow, that sounds like the same Macbook scam that happened to me over the summer...I remember how "coffee" was spilled on it the day before he was supposed to send it out, also at the same time he had a $500 Visa gift card that sold for major credits and he claimed his GF wouldn't give him the bank account info. At the same time this happened, the seller had won my brand new Nintendo Wii listing, which I already sent out. I ended up getting my credits back and my Wii sent back but it was a headache. That user was just kicked off the site recently, BTW, lol....what comes around goes around....

The Listia administrators advised him to send it back, or be investigated for fraud. (he had the post office send it back to me, thankfully) Listia takes those things very seriously, and they keep track of EVERYTHING that happens on this site. This is a very legitimate site and they try to clean up and keep it that way. Thank goodness.
