If you can figure out how much something weighs you can print shipping labels at home and schedule a pickup online by the mail man/woman. I haven't done it in a long time because I have too many deliveries, I just drop them off but I think it only applies for Priority mail.
It's really easy and takes only minutes. The hardest part would be setting up an account at usps.com.
You can pay with paypal or a credit card so if the winner of an item were to deposit the shipping amount on paypal, you could just pay for the shipping with that.

Maybe if you dropped it off at the listia office they could accept payment for the shipping costs and handle it for you? Sorry in advance if you are just completely against shipping. I mean, I'd drive over to Cali just to pick this up but It may run a little more pricey than it would be to buy it new haha
