Hahaha bud they doing that for along time also beach coming for yep beach glass smoothed from they waves. Point is you all call it japanese glass it is not as i mentioned japanese since many fishing areas and villages used glass. Cork was used for different applications just as today many use yep plastic for the same thing
there is no evidence of glass blowing up there. if they had them they either got them in trade or found them and used them.. the most likely and accepted thought is that it is Japanese glass. Whether or not it is, doesn t take away from what it is, a glass fishing float. Please do not continue with this as it serves no positive imput, but only to cause arguement.
The alutetic kodiac island part of alaska the island chain. Only been there 8 thousand years or so. And where they started using glass is anyones guess and since one of the largest fishing areas in the world is in the islands be a neat question to ask for sure. Net fishing been around for a long lond time and only natives may do it near the shores .
F&W& will be bidding We use to sell these ourselves and they are the traditional "Japanese" style floats that the fishermen use to use. Very cool looking to add to any nautical or beach theme room, business, net, etc...
there is no liquid in it, it is airtight that s how they keep the nets floating. it is antique because most countries used cork, but Japan didn t have that so they made glass one but they use plastic now, and although it doesn t say Japan it was found off washington states coast
People find these Japanese floats here in Hawaii all the time and the real valuable ones have sea water in them as it means they were at great depth at some point; looking at them you just wonder how the water got in them as there are no holes and it's a sealed glass sphere. I have seen a variety of colors but most of them have a green tint.
You don't have to do that. The picture are fine and believe what you said. They use to make fire extinguisher that look just like that and they are worth some money. Sorry for not explaining myself correctly. Thank you very much for getting back too me so quickly.
