Called many things: moqui marbles, "moki" marbles, moko balls, ironstone concretions, Navajo cherries, indian marbles or balls, iron balls, this unique naturally occurring stone was found by myself in Utah. Formed somewhere from 130 to 155 million years ago in the massive Navajo Sandstone beds, they have eroded and become a highly prized geological oddity. If cut, the center would contain iron stained red to yellow sandstone, and occasionally thin rings of iron. Thanks!
