This Stuff is Free Too:
This is a 1983 D Lincoln Cent with an example of Plating Split Doubling on the Denver mint mark. Plating Split Doubling occurs on some 1982 to current cents because these cents consist of a thin copper layer on a zinc core. Sometimes, during the minting process, the thin copper layer is fractured during the strike; exposing the zinc core. This one is kinda neat, because when the copper snapped back, it almost looks like a repunched mint mark also. It's a neat error coin to add to your collection.
