This is a hand made solid cedar ipswich pine stained log cabin birdfeeder. The pictures below are of the actual feeder. This feeder has two porches for the birds to feed out of and it measures approximately 15" length x 8" width x 10" height. These are handmade little logs that are specially cut and designed for each individual feeder. At the bottom of the little porches there are small holes covered with a wire mesh for drainage. The wooden piece at the top of the roof is to cover the hinges and can be removed when filling. One portion of the roof is pin nailed down but the other half lifts up for easy filling and cleaning. There is a double ramp built inside the feeder so the seed will freely flow into both porches. The windows and the door openings to the porches are made out of plexiglass, so you can easily see when the seed is low. This auction is for the birdfeeder only. For our own feeders we usually use a 4x4 pressure treated post. I also included a picture of multiple finches feeding at one of our own feeders. Tip: Use safflower seed instead of wild bird seed to enjoy the little birds and the squirrels don't bother it as much. Enjoy!
We have sold these on ebay for $80.00 + shipping, but I wanted to try one on listia. If it goes well, we may be making more to put on here.
Winning bidder to pay shipping cost. Sorry no negotiations as we are already taking a loss on material and labor costs to make these.
Shipping is to be paid through Paypal Only. No checks or cash. For safety to the bidder and the seller. At the end of the auction, the winner will need to provide their paypal address so that I can send them a bill for shipping. Shipping cost: actual cost to ship plus enough to cover the paypal charge. Shipping weight: about 9 lbs., size is 18x12x11, from 44270 if you would like to calculate the shipping cost. Thank you for looking.
*No Charge for Pickup*

What a beautiful bird feeder!! It would look great in our front yard. I'll put it on my watch list and hopefully I'll be able to bid on it towards the end of auction. I'll have to see what our money situation looks like first.

Does your husband make small - medium birdhouses, too?
Mar 12th, 2010 at 8:33:10 PM EST by
volcat0215

As you can see in the last picture, he also makes them with just one porch so those are smaller. He only makes feeders though at this time, not bird houses. In the past he has also made gazebo bird feeders. We may be putting one of those on here some day.

It is very beautiful. I wish I was this crafty. My dad makes birdhouses for Purple Martins. When I go to his house we sit on the porch drinking coffee and watching the birds. Very relaxing. Great auction.

Such a unique item for Listia, one that actually took somebodys hardwork to create. I hope you get a very high bid for this item, It surely deserves it :)
Mar 16th, 2010 at 1:13:56 PM EDT by
KRISTAMOMMA

I hope it goes high to for my husbands sake. If it goes well, this would be a way for my husband to have more of a hobby. It costs too much when you can't sell them that quick. So this way someone can get a great item and only have to pay the shipping charges. We sell them otherwise between $45-$80. Thank you.
