I'm a teacher and I always aspire to be Mr. Keatings in Dead Poet's Society. I also see so many kids in need of much more than an education in the "strictly content" sort of way...the lines that Williams delivered so perfectly, and flavors my teaching is the ones on the bench with Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. I told a teacher friend of mine that I just didn't realize how much Robin Williams had shaped me as a person and as a teacher. He has been with me since my elementary years when I religiously watched Happy Days and saw Mork appear for the first time to the Fonz in a dream...all the way through the Mork and Mindy years....then to his first films "World According to Garp" and "Popeye"....and the many many more through the years. I'm not voting for a favorite (simply because it would seem I'd be voting for a best time in my life....he's been there for the duration)...I'm not even bidding.... I think the tribute is a great idea and makes Listia something of a community. So thank you for sharing your personal story, and just continue to love and support the way you obviously do...that's the only way depression is defeated on a person to person level. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for your kind words...they go a long way in this world. =)
Its a scary thing, i don't think people realize its a very serious disease, that you cant "just get over it", or "stop feeling sorry for yourself".I have heard people say these things to my son, and it infuriates me! I have sat up with him at night and held him as he cried his eyes out. He didn't even know why, he just felt sad and overwhelmed. To live my life always afraid that my son may take that path, and have someone comment that i am profiting from his death really upset me. That was the furthest thing from my mind when i made up the auction. Its more about awareness, and the loss of an amazing man. Thank you so much! =)
