I think this is beautiful. My husband and I collect old marbles and have several German Swirls in peewee, regular and large sizes. My husband can't understand why I like this, you know, because its not a marble, he can't figure out why I like it. I like it because its the beginning of a marble.

germany started making hand mading marble from 1880 to around 1920. The would use a glass rod with different color in them to make the marbles. The begining and the end of the rods were in generally not round and not desirable and were throw in the trash.
