I have a separate dvd burner hooked to a vhs/dvd combo and I love my dvd burner!!! its so nice to be able to transfer my vhs to dvd..I have found out of print, hard to find videos and put them on dvd.I have gotten my moneys worth from it..whoever gets this will be a very happy person. I know someone personally who has this very same model, very easy to use :)

Not sure what each cable is or what its for so my question is does it come with all the cables it needs to plug it in and use it right away and does everything work good?

Yes. It comes with all the cables it needs. It works great. We just don't use it anymore and hate to see it just sitting there. It comes with everything it came with when we bought it.

Yes, you can watch vhs and dvd, and you can record, you can also record what you are watching on tv to dvd or vhs. It is quit versatile.

I have 1 of these...what are the proper discs I need to recor tv shows to dvd...I bought discs on here n they didn't work....:(

It really depends on what you want to do and how long you want to record. If you want to erase etc.... I used -RW, but have used other things as well. If you look at the beginning of the manual the different types of disc and there differences are completely explained. And if that doesn't work, stop by Best Buy, they seem to be able to make anything make sense.
