if you were to buy credits from listia, they charge you $5 for 3000 credits. that is about $1.67 per 1000 credits. not sure where the credit = $ conversion amounts came from, whether its .50 cents per 1000 or $1 per 1000.the price listia charges is $1.67 per 1000 and then gets cheaper the more you buy. never as low as $1 or .50 per 1000.

now, if you are going to say that a $100 gift card sells for about 200k credits, so 1000 credits are worth .50 cents. then I would counter that I sold a brand new pair of shoes, with a $50 price tag for 500 credits. in that scenario 1000 credits are worth $100. lol

in reality, there is no true credit to $ conversion. you can get credits for free and something is worth as much as a particular person is willing to pay. just my 2 cents. now as far as this auction is concerned......AWESOME!! a 'lil something for everyone and worth every credit you get. haha. F&W

Everybody is welcomed to their opinion as I always say! But with the ability to circumvent its approximation, I have learned that 499 is indeed 50 cents and there's a way to prove it! If one were to equal $1.67 to 1000, then Listia would immediately raise their prices. They know the value and so they price it high (as would any enterprise). Businesses need to make money too! Don't we all? So it's a matter of marketing vrs intellectual accountability. They MUST add on their little incentive, "ON SALE" or "50% off" otherwise profits will drop ...

I joined Listia over 3 years ago, 2 years after it launched and when the site started becoming quite popular. Yes, sometimes there are items which gain a lot of bids- way more than I'd ever consider spending in some cases. However, this is the only time I've ever seen the comparison of value you've made.

You are right jennee, i have done the resaerch. 1000 credits is worth about 50 to 60 cents. Many of the buyers here just do not get that. Plus the cost of shipping a lot like this is expensive. Becuase of the low conversion rate, I like to buy these makeup lots and break them down and sell them on Ebay. I have had very good success. Anybody the knows what the gift cards sell for should accept that 1000 credits for around 50 cents. I love listia, but auctions should start at at least 1000 minimum. Good luck on the auction

This is the first I've seen anyone say 1000 credits is .50 It's common to see 1000 is $1, however.

Some auctions go much higher than they're worth to me, and that's the case for many of us.

Anyway, this is a great lot of items! I'd just double check on mailing the aerosol cans as they're often on the no ship list.

Really? No ship list? When I've shipped them in the past, and they ask about "anything liquid, perishable....." etc, i tell it like it is- the truth. Never in 20 years had someone tell me I couldn't ship it. No disrespect intended! (is it a new policy that started this week?) And yes, 1000 is 50 cents, I promise Im not lying. Ask any long-term member. Back in the day when "gum was a nickel" (lol, i think of grandma when i say that in my tennessean voice), then they were worth more. Since then, it depreciated. Makes though, right? Gum went up to a quarter, gas goes up to $3.40 next week, postal rates are forever changing, the cold temperature keeps fluctuating....sorry for the rambling!!! *I take after my goofy ol' dad!!!*

Ok i keep seeing arguing over the price of credits and such..but in all reality 1000 credits is almost 2 dollars..if you go to "buy credits" you get 3000 for $5..well 3000 divided by 5 is actually 600..so you get 600 credits for a dollar. The more you spend the more you get. But 1000 credits is ROUGHLY 1.75ISH

That was back in the day...Im in college now with no time for that. Took 8 hrs to calculate and then 3 hours in the store! More additional hours for the task forcing! I now buy in bulk...my roommate does the same thing.. In fact, the cases on my other listing (THE HUGE ONES) are from him. Tonight he bought $3000 of products in bulk because if you have the money, you'll make money...just takes time and patience.

A GIN? hmmm now this is a thinker! Shipping is roughly $13 plus its face value NOT counting tax is $98, easily rounding to 100 bucks, doubling to account for cash to credit conversion, 200,000 adding Listia's fee...20,000 equals 180,000 to me....I suppose I would do a GIN of 190,000....
