no cover sorry, it is bubble wrapped though, it comes with a charger. but no books because when you register it, you register with your amazon account. there are tons of books free on amazon.com though, and i use bookbub.com, its free and they email you everyday with books they think you will like and free ones.because one minute a book can be free and the next day not, but once you have it downloaded, and they change the price, it doesnt effect you, keep it till you erase it. sorry hope this helps!

pretty much, but it does have the wifi in it and you can go online also. you use the internet connection to download the book or magazine and then you can turn wifi off, you dont need the internet on to read. one battery charge would last me about 3 weeks! pretty cool its just one downfall is this model does not have a backlight but its like e-ink so in the sunlight you can read it great!

no problem! i dont blame you for asking! :) this is why im getting rid of it, is because of the night time reading!! no light! im not sure of the year (sorry) check on amazon and just type in kindle 3.4 with wifi for more details because i looked and didnt see it but maybe you will have more luck. as far as anything else wrong, the only thing i would say is the buttons are a little worn out but you can still tell what they are. and it works really great, just night time reading is like my thing because i read when my kid goes to bed and was kinda bummed when i got it. i hope this answers everything, sorry im not sure on that year though :/
