Questions & Comments

For anyone wondering about what models it will fit: the answer is ALL models. All PS3's use a standard 2.5" SATA hard drive, same as most notebook computers. The physical size of the drive, and it's connector, are the same across the entire PS3 line. There is a difference in the mounting caddies, and the one included in this box will only work on "super slim" (4000-series) models; but you can swap this for your existing drive using your existing caddy on earlier models. NOTE: swapping drives will result in losing all saved games and downloaded content, unless it is backed up. Please research before making a drive change.

Does this work in a fat ps3 or slim

well the box reads "This HDD kit is designed for the 12 GB, CHCH-4000 series PS3. The included 500 GB Hard Drive will work on all PS3 systems using the mounting bracket already installed in the system. The included mounting bracket will not work on all systems."
So I think it works on all PS3s, thanks for the question.
