Do these have sterling silver cores?

No ... a lot of my charms have cores marked 925 ... but in reality they are silver PLATED with 925 silver. The Chinese manufacturers have been doing this for years. I don't know how they get away with it, but most stuff coming out of China marked 925 is actually silver plated. So the cores are a nice bright silver, but they are not solid sterling silver.

This is true for ALL Euro charms you find on Listia (and other web sites) UNLESS they are also marked with a brand stamp, such as Pandora. Branded Euro charms will have the stamp of the maker in addition to 925 or ALE (a European mark for sterling).

Mine, like most charms on Listia, are costume quality. They are not the same as the charms you pay $20+ each for in a gift shop or department store. They are JUST as pretty tho ... and a lot more affordable!

If you are shopping on ebay, you'll often see the Chinese sellers describe their stuff as "925 plated." This is not the same as 925 ... which is solid 92.5 percent silver. You can go on ebay and see what I'm talking about. The Pandora, Pugster, Biaggi, Troll and other "branded" charms will always have some sort of additional mark on the core.

Very much so, thank you I'm unable to wear anything with nickel in it due to allergies. Sounds like these likely have it. Too bad-they're very cool!

A lot of my stuff is made from copper ... it is all guaranteed lead-free, but you are probably right, the non-silver plated items very well could be nickel.

I'm sorry about your allergies! That must be hard to deal with ... does silver plate work for you even if it is on nickel?
