This is a sony hi8 video camera, ccd-tr818

i bought this on ebay to transfer all my hi8 tapes to dvd so i dont need it anymore...it doesnt come with a battery just the power adapter. i was told when i purchsed that i would have to buy batteries seperate and buy a seperate charger , because the power adapter didnt charge batteries....i never did because i didnt plan to use to record just to transfer...but it does record, i tested this feature....
