Way too high, just like everything else in the Rewards Store lately! It's sad to see how Listia is Fleecing its customers for the holidays, at a time when we are trying to add more items to the site to increase sales to purchase things for our families.

I hope that Listia understands that this inflationary practice only causes sellers to raise their asking price for the items they sell, in order to make it worthwhile to get enough credits to in turn purchase the overpriced items in the rewards store. This practice, in the long run, will only drive away both sellers and customers, and then what!!

The credit value is in fact around $2.25 or so per 1,000 credits, not $1.00 per 1,000 credits anymore. (That's my opinion)

I won't judge listings based on a $1.00 value per 1,000 credits anymore. Everyone just view the sale of gift cards, that's pretty much what caused most of the inflation on the site.

When we started Listia 5 long years ago we won a Panasonic 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV in the rewards store for only 23,336 credits so, with what I have just said I can tell you I feel and completely understand the rising cost's on the site.

I know Listia is a great site, that's why we continue to stay. Only in the last few days have we came to completely accept the credit inflation. I was complaining just a few days ago about how high things have gone up. I won't do that anymore. (o:

Now I know that what I have to do is just go with the flow and unfortunately we have to list our items at a higher credit value based on the going value of gift cards to this day.

Some members will agree to what I am saying here and others won't but, again I say "Just view the gift cards on the site" and maybe most will agree. It's happening all around the world!

It's called inflation. (O:

Happy Holidays to all and to the Listia Staff! Gobble! Gobble! and Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas to All! (o:

@freestuffforyou, I really don't need your explanation of the inflation going on here, as I am the one that brought it up. I realize that you've been on this site almost since the beginning, and maybe that is why your judgement is a little biased to the facts.

Please keep in mind that Listia is a closed system, and in this closed system, the inflation is pretty much controlled by Listia, as they dole out the credits, create the cash value that they charge to buy credits, and decide how much or how little quantity of rewards merchandise and GC they make available.

What I'm saying is, you don't see GC prices fluctuating in value on any other sites or stores where they can be readily purchased for their face value. That is only occurring here on Listia, in this controlled by Listia environment. They could change that in a heart beat if they so decided. And, if they supplied enough quantity, things would not need to go so high because there would be enough supply to satisfy the demand.

I think most folks here really understand how supply and demand works and that is why people are so upset about all these unnecessarily high credit prices in such a short time.

I mean, come on, you don't see Amazon.com or Best Buy limiting how many GC you can buy from them, or them charging their customers $40 for a $25 gift card do you? I'm sorry, but I, and I'm sure most other folks, don't need you to make us understand how inflation works. At least, not your skewed version of it. We can see what's going on here. I could go further on the subject, but I don't want to waste any more time on sharing information that falls on deaf ears. Besides, I'm sure we've all got items that need listing on Listia, at least I do. I really like this site and don't want to see its' growth stunted by these constant credit hikes; people are leaving because of it. HAPPY LISTING TO ALL!

This site gives away much more than just gift cards. It's is highly insane to base credit value on the amount a gift card goes for.
If that was the case then we should all be doing just gift cards and nothing else. Come on Listia you are killing your site slowly.

Hey folks. Bestbuy is doing this, not listia. Bestbuy is tired of people buying off of listia then taking back to store for refund or exchange for aomething else. Ive done it. The listings here of bestbuy are the ones with the high gins. The tvs, etc from walmart are priced at gin more closely to cost. Check it out for yourself. This is bestbuy's doing. Walmart and bestbuy are getting rid of overstock and/or discontinued items on listia. Bestbuy sees people bringing those items back due to their lean return policy. Walmart has changed their policy recently and therefore this is not a problem for them. See for yourself.

I am not trying to but heads with you at all DMDWholesale

Oh no scew, I just see the facts. This is not Amazon or Best Buy. There items are for money not credits. This is Listia a "free" site! It can't stay the same or it would never evolve. I hear loud and clearly. I see that Listia controls the system but, the inflation has been on the rise for quite some time. They don't control the bidders hand. I did in fact purchased the 50" tv yesterday. There price was maybe a tad high but, not by much. The credit value is based on the current credit bid of the gift cards. I do believe that Listia needs to update the Credit amount you get for buying credits with money. I believe it should be double the amount of credits for the money.

I believe we should take this to the forum. This is no place for a battle of wits. I am not trying to defeat you. Gift cards have changed the credit value not Listia.

HAPPY LISTING TO ALL!

I think we are witnessing the end of this site. Everythings empty and what isnt is full of angry comments about prices. Im very sad. I really loved listia. Things went so bad so quick on here. Sad sad sad. Please listia do something. I think the end of gift cards would fix this. Or a set limit. Whatever but fix it before this sites gone. If its not to late.

@DMDWholesale: ....

Listia was listing gift cards for a get it now. It was $15.00 for 15,000 credits and so on. ($1.00 per 1,000 credits). I won a ton of them and so did a lot of other members. Everyone including myself was re-listing them for more credits, they weren't going for as much as they are now.

Members since the site started have always used the "gift card value per dollar" as a way to determine the credit value. Visa cards used to be allowed and that set the pace as well. So I guess Listia figured it out that the get it now was a way for members to profit when they re-listed the cards for a higher gin then they one them for. I think they stopped doing the get it now because of that.

If I recall correctly without looking back, I remember getting $5.00 for a little over 500 credits and sold them for that as well. Back then 500 credits was a fare amount. It's inflation. HDTV'S were around 23,000 credits...lol

Every since the get it now was stopped in the rewards store on gift cards they have went through the roof in bidding and in turn raising everything else on the site. (based $1 per 1,000 credits). Now it is around $2 per 1,000 credits and higher at times.

So now that gift cards are being bid up to 35,000 credits for $30.00 members are getting more than double that and in some cases triple for the get it now option on gift cards. I just sold a $220.00 gift card for 488,888 credits yesterday.

They would have to get rid of gift cards all together to stop it. I see it going no where but up!

It's the bidders choice to bid and how much they bid that causes the inflation. How high it will go is how high the bidder will bid.

All Listia does is list the cards, the bidders take it from there.

Inflation is it, bread used to be 5 cents a loaf. (:

Not sure why anyone would not hold Listia responsible for what is going on here, as this is their site, and they set the terms and conditions, prices for Rewards Store items, etc. Think about why there are fixed prices for everything in the Rewards Store except for gift cards! They are fixed price items as well, so why do they need to be auctioned to the highest bidder? The merchandise isn't handled that way.

Gift cards are easily replenishable and are electronic for the most part (unless you choose to have a physical one mailed out), so they don't go out of stock and don't have to be ordered in the same way a TV would. Amazon.com certainly hasn't raised the price of a $25 gift card to more than the face value of $25 if you and I wanted to go and buy one today.

I know Listia has to make money, so why not just make the gift cards a fixed price and make them available to anyone that wants to purchase them? Instead of a $15 gift card getting bid up to 30,000 credits, why not just make it a fixed price of say 20,000 or if you want to be greedy 25,000 credits. Why do we have to have a cutoff of 11pm on buying them, as we should be able to buy them at any time of day?

Listia controls all of these facets folks and if you don't think they do, you're fooling yourself.

I love this site as much as everyone else and I earn a ton of credits, and I know it's the holidays, but things are getting way out of hand here. Policies, processes, and procedures can easily be changed to make things a lot better. This inflation is self induced by Listia in my opinion and not because the stores prices are going up. This is the holidays for goodness sakes, stores are marking things down, not up like Listia - that point should be painfully obvious to everyone!

The inflation is Not Listia's fault. The inflation is the fault of what gift are currently going for.

Listia Staff, no offense at all when I say this but, I think you should double the credits for sale, (like 83,200 for $40.00). It would end a lot of chaos on the site with the misunderstood value for items listed. You know what I mean? There's a lot of fuss on the site with members complaining other members items and yours are listed way to high on the Get It Now.

Everyone or most are going by the 1,000 credits per $1 value when the site has in fact went up to about 1,000 credits per $2,25 give or take a few cents.

If you change that it will balance out the site and change the thoughts of others, (credits vs GIN).

Just a thought???

We are still buying rewards items but it's tough on the credit wallet...lol

Happy Holidays Listia Staff. (o:
