Hello and welcome to Listia. The highest bidder will get the item but Listia uses proxy bidding. If you've ever used eBay, they do to, but if not, I'll try to explain. Am auction starts at 100 credits and Suzy bids 200 credits. The auction would show high bidder as Suzy at 100 because no one had bid against her. If Mary came along and bid 150, the high bid would become 151 & still show Suzy as high bidder because she promised to pay up to 200 credits originally. If Mary increased her bid to 225, she would outbid Suzy to become high bidder with a bid of 201. If the auction ended at that movement she would be the winner but if there is still time left, she could be outbid by anyone. I hope that helps.
