Description
The listing, Lot of 2 Vintage RUBY GLASS GOBLET with SILVER FOOTED STEM GLASS INTERNATIONAL SILVER CO has ended.
This is a pair of large Ruby Red Glass goblets by International Silver Co The are each 8.75" tall. The top is ruby glass on a silver plated stem. The pair are in superb condition...no chips or cracks Each one weighs about 12 ounces The silver needs to be polished to make this pair look brand new!
Nope, nothing there. Just the trick lighting of my camera, I see the spot you mean, tho. This set is in perfect condition, except for needing the silver part polished. No chips , cracks or repairs. I rescued this pair from a china cupboard of a lady who was downsizing. I don't usually buy goblets but the red is so intense that I couldn't quit looking at them. I guess the contrast between the metal and the glass is what caught my eye at first. I always see glass goblets or metal goblets but rarely a combination of the two. They just don't make them like this anymore. I bought 80 different pieces from this lady on that day. I will be auctioning them off over the next few weeks. I hope you check back with me!
Very lovely, let me ask you, do you know since these are silverplated, if these were cleaned with silver cleaner would they 'shine' or reveal the metal underneath ? Also, are there any markings on the bottom, (of the manufacturer or style no.)You know what let me go back and look at the picture before you answer that part, I'm thinking you have a picture of that but being on my tablet I can't see the pictures while I'm typing. Don't want to sound ignorant! LOL Nice auction for sure, and will be watching to see what you list next!
These goblets, with a little silver Polish would be as shiny as the underneath where the sticker is. The lady that I got them from, had lots of things in her cupboards that sat there for years..she didn't polish anything. I did find a set on eBay that has been polished..the difference is amazing.
