The listing, VINTAGE FIRST MAN ON THE MOON WHITE MILK GLASS MUG DATED JULY 20, 1969 has ended.

This cup is in excellent condition..no chips or cracks.
From the 1960's
This special mug commemorates the first man on the moon!
Dated July 20, 1969
It is about 5 1/2" tall
Very unique, I haven't seen another one like it
Graphics are gold and are in excellent condition
Heavy milk glass
Would be a special gift for a collector

There are no maker marks--there were so many companies that made this kind of glass in the 60's..could have been any one of them...Fire King, Jeanette, Hazel Atlas, just to name a few.

As I said I collect glassware an have for 30 yrs. now, I have one of these myself. I got it when I visited the National Air And Space Museum in Washington DC 25 yrs. ago. I believe I paid around $8.oo then for it. I am currently looking for glass ware from the 70s when gas stations handed out glasses and cups for a fill-up.

Very cool, I figured it was a gift shop item. Thanks for the info. Those free cups that gas stations used to hand out are very cool. I always look for them myself. It's getting harder to find them in decent condition but I do see them on occasion. If I find any, I will list them here on listia.

Thanks! Might be a nice gift for a history buff. I looked all over the web and I couldn't find one like it. I still remember what an event this was. Seemed like the whole world stopped to watch. Of course I was only 12 and my memories were of a child's. My parents talked about it for days. It was quite a big deal. This cup probably came from a gift shop and displayed proudly. It doesn't look as if it was ever used.

This is a beautiful cup in excellent condition, However, This cup is a commemorative cup celebrating 20 yrs. of man having landed on the moon. It came out in 1989. But it is a rare find. I collect vintage glassware and Milk Glass is collectable.

Hi David, thanks for the info. Just wondering where you get your info from? Did you see it in a book or something or maybe just remember it from seeing it somewhere? I have been curious about this cup since I found it because I can ususually find anything on the web but I couldn't find anything about this cup, anywhere..it bugs me! I love milk glass but have never collected it. So, if you can tell me anything, would be much appreciated. Also, anyone that is interested in bidding might be interested, also.

Already fanned you. Bidding and watching. Hope to get this for my older brother. His previous wife made him throw away all his Apollo 11 stuff; and, he'd collected all of his stuff including newspaper articles, the record of the landing on the moon; absolutely everything he could get his hands on about it. I really need this cup to help him rebuild his collection. =D
