6 Gram Jar of Pearl Ex Pigment Powder - Sky Blue - #647

Create shimmering colorful finishes in nearly any medium with this beautiful spring Easter blue color pigment.

Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments are an extremely versatile product! Used by Artists, Painters, Polymer Clay, Ceramic, Rubber Stampers, Scrapbookers, Embossers, Encaustic Wax, Resin, Paper Arts, Jewelry, Steampunk, and to create faux finishes on all types of surfaces.

They can be mixed into any media and applied to any surface! And the variety of finishes Pearl Ex can produce is nearly endless—from metallic sheens to pearlescent shimmers to all manner of faux finishes.

Mix Into: Pearl Ex Varnish, Oil, Acrylic, Gouache, Varnish, Clay, Melted wax, Clear or Glitter Glue, Almost any medium!

Apply to: Clay, Embossed Stamped Images, Wax Embellishments, Glass, Metal, Wood, Paper, Fabric, Resin, Almost anything!

Pearl Ex creates a metallic look without being a metal. The particles are flat platelets with two surfaces, therefore it lays down beautifully like a thin coating of metal. The different particle sizes produce different looks — from a fine, smooth, pearly luster to a highly metallic sheen.

It is a safe, non-toxic, inert powdered pigment with a neutral pH. It is extremely color fast and stable — it will not tarnish or fade and is therefore ideal for archival applications.

do you need the heating tool when using this on cardstock?

Hi There,

It depends. Pearl Ex pigments are very versatile. They are not embossing powders as they contain only 100% pure pigment particles, so they are mixed with mediums (like clear embossing powder) to give them beautiful shimmering color. So if you want to use them to emboss cardstock, you would mix the powder with a clear embossing powder and then apply to your embossing ink and set with the heat tool. But Pearl Ex can be added to paper craft projects with any clear adhesive or glue - you can sprinkle or brush the powders onto the tacky surface or mix them directly into your adhesive of choice. They can also be mixed with ink (alcohol and pigment based) and paint, polymer clay, wax, and resin. They basically take on the properties of whatever medium you use them with to create the brilliant shimmering colors.

I hope you find this information helpful and thanks for checking out my listing.
