Up for auction are a couple of digital cameras that perhaps a handy person out there might want to tinker with or may need some parts. Both are the of the same make and model: Canon A85 4.0 megapixel. Both power up without problems. They both have issues with the LCD. There may be lines on the LCD display or alterations in the framing of the picture itself. The auto focus appears to be intact on both.
The first camera, however, has a color issue with red appearing as a magenta tinge on the LCD screen, and also on the final image written to the memory card.

The second camera produces a normal appearing image on the CF memory card, Nevertheless, there is the alteration in the LCD monitor that manifests itself from time to time as one takes shots. Also, there may be the same magenta tinge problem, but it hasn't affected the final image that I am aware of.

Cosmetically, 5/10 for both. There is no major dents, or scratches, just the usual wear typical of what one would expect from a used camera. The battery compartment in each are clean with no corrosion, and the battery doors are easily opened and closed. The selection knob is easy to turn.

They use 4 AA batteries (not included). The better functioning one might serve in an emergency that you can keep in your glovebox ready for action. Simply, press the power button, and shoot.
