This is what I've always called a "coffee table book".

It was made in 1946 and there are litterally hundreds of photos and facts about the war in here. All are in black and white. Many are absolutely heartbreaking. All of them show the horror of war and some are not for the weak of stomach.

It's rather large and it's 272 pages of historical photos, many of which I've never seen before (and I'm a history buff).

The photo's I've uploaded were taken at random. I just opened the book and snapped the shot.

It measures 11 1/2" wide by 14 1/2" tall.

This would make a great gift for any millitary or WWII collector.

fanned my grandfather was in WW 2 and had a book like this he passed away in 1988 and not sure where the book is anymore.

I WANT THIS! What aspects of WWII does this cover? Holocaust, Pearl Harbor, and all the major events? I'm a Holocaust buff... Would love to know if Nazi Germany is covered in this as well. :)

It covers from beginning to end. There's a lot of info in there that I didn't know about. It's a great book.

Does this cover any part of France? My Dad fought in this war and my mom was in the French Resistance. If it has anything from there I would DEFINITELY be a bidder. Please let me know ASAP! Fanned and Watching.

Yes, It does have a section on France. I'm not sure what part of France you're looking for but if you can be specific I'll try to find it in there for you.

My dad had one too. He was a decorated Navy pilot in the Pacific theater. He has finally started telling stories - he is 88. I don't think he kept his book either. He has been trying to get Veteran benefits for years all to no avail. Gotta love it.

It's not moldy but it's not fress from the printer either. lol It doesn't smell bad. It just smells like and old book to me.
