Hello lilley, I never heard of this type of HDMI w/Ethernet. So I am copying and pasting my research if that is OK with you.

It incorporates a dedicated data channel into the HDMI link, enabling high-speed, bi-directional networking at up to 100 Mb/sec.

It can be used as a normal HDMI cable but it is so much more than that. BTW, its 1440P not 1040P.
