This is very old and has been in my family for a great long while. it sits flat on the paper and allows you to read and keeps your hands free at the same time to do something else. it is gold plated and very heavy for 3 3/4 inches in lenght. it is still a brite gold color and has never tarnished in the 38 years of sitting on my desk and use.
it was given to me by my grandmother when i was 16 years old and it was given to her by her mother. i estimate, it is probably 125 to 145 yrs old....so please bid accordinly.
