This is a re-list, the winner of the auction needed a 32 bit, and I was nice of enough to refund his credits.

Have an Acer and the screen broke right before I had received the upgrade kit for it. My Acer still works, but I don't feel it necessary to upgrade it since I bought a different laptop.

This Upgrade kit is brand new, I opened it to see what was in it to auction it off. It has 2 discs. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions about it.

No problem. I actually like my Acer better than any other brand that I have owned. I still use it with the cracked screen anyway lol.

I hook up the laptop to my tv through HDMI connection and it plays movies awesomely and watch movies from Graboid. I still get a lot of use from it.

If you do a cracked screen replacement some places are fairly reasonable depending on the price you paid for the laptop LOL. Laptop screens depending on size can cost around $200 at least where I live (Ohio).

I paid $600 in Oct. 2009, brand new. I didn't know you could get a replacement, thanks for the info. I've been getting some people that have asked me if I would like to sell the laptop, but I honestly love my Acer more than HP, Dell and some others that I have owned.

Yes, but I've read it needs to be a clean install. I really don't know what that means. This upgrade has windows 7 home premium and then the acer disc to reinstall.

I think this Windows 7 Upgrade Kit was designed for " ACER " Computer

The purpose was to upgrade from VISTA to Windows 7 on PC's that

Were built when VISTA was being phased out -- I bought 2 VISTA machines

But they were not ellegable for the Windoze 7 Upgrade :(

Installing Windows 7 on an XP compurter -- requires a " CLEAN INSTALL "

That means you WIPE and FORMAT the HARD DRIVE before installing Win7

I don't know anything about computers. Does this not work for a Compaq computer? This has 2 disc, one for the Windows 7 & Acer upgrade to upgrade Wizard and Application drivers for Windows 7.

Yes it will work. The Acer Driver disc will not work so when you install Windows 7, you will have to go to the manufacturer website to get the correct graphics card drivers, sound drivers, etc. But the answer to the question a couple people asked is YES, the disc will work on any computer. I'm a computer technician and just figured i'd help you out.

oh. and your computer HAS to be a 64 bit computer, or built for one.
You could put a 32 bit operating system on a 64 bit computer, but not a 64 bit on a 32 bit system.
