The listing, Vintage "Old King Cole" Cookie Jar JAPAN has ended.

Up for bids is a Vintage "Old King Cole" Cookie Jar marked JAPAN on the bottom

The piece is 12 1/4" tall 7 and Wide and 5 1/2 Deep.and in great condition for it's age except for a 1/4" hairline crack across 3 corners on the top of the base which you can't see if it closed. I tried to capture them in pictures the best I could. There's also a chip UNDERNEATH but does Not go through the piece at all and has no hairlines coming from it. It also has very light age crazing, so some of the pictures are just because I was trying to capture it.

It evidently had red painted circles on the hat because there are still small amounts of painted 1/2 circles. The white circle on top of the hat is paper which was a sticker from the estate sale I got it from.

Research shows This cookie jar is featured in "The Complete Cookie Jar Book" 4th Edition by Mike Schneider page 230 and also The complete Cookie Jar Book by Mike Schneider Copy right 2001. Page:231-15-The wonderful World of Cookie Jars by Mark & Ellen supnick: page :170 I found it on a site for $325.00 but I know the actual value because I can't find the books mentioned..

Paypal I also accept CC=concealed cash and USPS Postal Money Orders also Postage stamps in the amount of the shipping if you already have them on hand.

Mailouts on Mondays and Fridays. Shipping implies USA ONLY, Not Canada or Anyone else unless you want to pay the extra for it.

The price is for the Priorirty Flat Rate box, when I find a plain box I'll get the shipping for it instead.IF it's cheaper, please know I Alway make sure theres enogh packing material for a safe trip. Insurance is $1.80 more

I just made a batch of chocolate chips, and they have no home to go to.... This would be an attractive addition to my kitchen, and would give the "homeless" cookies a place to go. They would definitely be better off than their current state, which is a plastic container (that used to hold markers) covered with ghetto wrap. I will be watching and bidding. Love this auction!! I'm new but am learning a lot quicker than I thought my middle age brain would allow! As for the cookie jar#dilemna, somehow I wound up with 5 and don't buy many cookies either! So 1 is for dog treats,1 for the cat and 1 for the soup labels and boxtops for ed. the others are for the actual cookies! I'm not a very good photographer but what helped me take better pics is a3 sided backdrop i made out of posterboard and a lazy susan I got at a yard sale and spray painted black.Sometimes I drape a white sheet over the whole thing for effect. For some things I really want to set off I got a piece of black velvet I cut off of a thrift store dress. I was suprised at how much of a difference it makes for some things. we what happens is, (from a dear listian who told me about how to Feature items) IF it's too dark or sideway angeled, or outta focus...stuff like that sometimes won't get featured. she said it's best to take pictures in the bathroom because of the lighting in some of them. I had one that didn't feature and I kept trying and it did a few days later and a few I removed the pictures before bids were placed and RE-DID the pictures for better lighting and it worked. hope this helps.

FYI, if you wrap the priority box in brown craft paper to mail and take to post office they can tell you how much the shipping will be. If its cheaer this way, then ship this way, if not, then remove the paper and ship in the flat rate priority. Hope this helps.
