Hopefully the people bidding on this actually have a service dog, trained to help them with a disability.... and not just a dog they want to take everywhere with them. Good luck to the seller and bidders :)

I can understand what your saying Knubbly but its not polite for you to police this auction. I've met many "fake" service dogs with no training whatsoever. ADA doesn't even require a dog wear a vest but it makes it easier and you get less questions asked. I don't have one and this is a nice opportunity to get one that I can't afford to buy right now right now. If you want to pick at listings go report the "prong collars" that injure dogs and are truly illegal in some states and they are getting them off Listia.

what people do with items I have up to bid It does not matter to me. there are so many reasons, give as a gift, train their dog, put it on a stuffed animal,It's just not my concern and I just don't need any one telling me how to put up items I just do what I feel is right to me

Knubblybubbly you are very selfish. There are people like my grandma that only got their service dog because of special grants and she gets help with the dogs medical care. Expenses like getting replacement vests can be a challenge. This is a great opportunity for someone to get. Nw vet who cannot afford to outright buy one. It do be a shame for you to ruin this nice genuine auction for someone who is honest and can use it. There is nothing illegal about their offer and it is not against listia rules. It is not proper nor polite for you to ram hold someone's auction because of your own personal agenda. Back off and let them run their own auction. I wish this could fit my grandmas dog but it's too small. It would have been nice to win for her and I would be been ticked if you outbid me just so you could prevent me from getting it, not because you actually wanted it. Have some honor in yourself since you want others to act honorable.. Practice what you preach!

my boxer wore it but it was small on her so she wore it close to the neck area. I think it would fit a med dog great.

Size? I have a service dog, seizure alert dog (I have epilepsy). She is a Miniature Pinshcer,I like to have a couple spare vests just in case. I was surprised to see this on here. Here's my concern. As of now,the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act),states that a service dog does not need any certification, etc. It is a service dog,if you say it's a service dog,it works on trust basically. However, more and more people are abusing this, simply so they can have their dog with them in the stores, etc. They have no disability, and lie, usually using epilepsy, diabetes,or other "non-visible" ailments,to have as a disability,to have the dog with them. The vests you technically can get online,no problem, however, they are expensive. Having it on here, just makes it even easier for some unscrupulous people to abuse this system that the ADA has in place. The more and more people who are abusing it,are making the ADA seek to change the laws,so that all service dogs need certification, doctors "notes",third party verifications, etc,to ensure the dog is a real service dog,and the person has a verifiable disability. There are some service dogs, that have not gone through a traditional certified training class. My disability is one that most often have service dogs without the traditional certification. Out of every 100 dogs that go in specifically for seizure alert service, only 2 come out,on average,as a "useable" seizure alert service dog. Meaning, some dogs can sense it,and some dogs cannot. It just comes down to that. Out of my 7 dogs, only my service dog can sense my oncoming seizures. I run a local service dog "club" and awareness group. And many people such as myself, people who have diabetes alert dogs (dogs that can sense their handlers blood sugar is too high,or too low),often have dogs that have not had traditional service dog training. They are often dogs they come across by chance, and have not had the traditional training, but provide the service, the task at hand, for their handler.

CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS COMMENT,TOO MANY CHARACTERS....
....... This is crucial to many of those out there with other medical disabilities. If the ADA changes the laws because of bad people who abuse the system, many will be left without their service dog. I've had my girl as my service dog for over 5 years now,I couldn't leave the house without her. I know you are a person with a disability, and have a real service dog. I know you do. But many others do not,and will use this vest for their own selfish wants. If need be,I'll drive the bidding up so high that no one can win this, just for this reason, that it does not get abused. Anyone who uses this, and does not have a medical condition,or disability, and does not require a service dog,are despicable people, basically preying upon the vulnerability of those of us with real conditions and real service dogs.I think myself, that this is a very irresponsible listing. And the fact that the vest does not state what type of service dog it is,makes it even easier for scum to take advantage of the lax laws governing service dogs. I'll give you credits for free,if you remove this listing. That's how strongly I feel about this!

Hello, I really like this auction as I have seizures. My dog has outgrown his and this would fit him. As far as that person...just ignore her. Jesus said...he without sin; cast the first stone. Well that cant be her!!! I fanned you and I am watching this real close!!! May God watch over you and your family!!! <3 <><
