Have you tried to do the reset thing where you hold down some buttons for a minute or so and it reboots the whole thing?

On the back it says 8gb in a box. And sorry i might have the generations wrong. Its the one that doesnt have mic or camera i got it last year.

pics of the back would help. i know a lot of ppl can id these by looking at the back..i cant..but most can..but from what lil i know this sounds like it may be a 1st gen coz i think the 2nd have a cam and i know the 3rd do. hope that helps. and id do an update if you can saying that before ppl jump down your throat for having it wrong. it can turn ugly way fast and id hate to see that happen coz i dont feel you were purposely out to trick anybody.
