You can use it to stream in things like netflix and movies from amazon. It has a good point and its a really nice thing to have. We use the x-box to stream movies now that would be awesome because I wouldn't have to fight with the kids to get the x-box. The movies are free on netflix and way cheaper on amazon than if you rent movies on demand thru cable companies.

Don't you think putting "Apple TV" in the title is a misrepresenting this?????

AMYWATKINS101 not really.. that is exactly the name of it. apple.com/appletv

StarMan40 its billed to you via your itunes account. It syncs with your computer and as long as you understand electronics its not a hard hookup. Its even easier if you have a newer tv.

Sandyw81676 if you put your old one up let me know

Michie your right netflix is better, but an apple tv is good for streaming podcasts and syncing your computer to stream movies from your hard drive especially if you use a mac mini as a slave computer to host all your data.

I'm really surprised there are this many people who don't know what an Apple TV is.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Listia (very, very new; not even eligible to bid). Only one thing about Listia bothers me. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND the need for some people to leave negative or unkind comments. What's the purpose other than to be the "mean girl/guy?" Kindest regards to all, and have fun bidding! Sounds like a great item to win! Best wishes, Snowy.

I assume I will need a subscription or a cable to hook up to. Am I right?

magicmojoman no you do not need cable or any subscription to hook it up. Technically you dont even need the internet, but it helps if you want to stream movies from itunes and downloading itunes is free. The newest version of apple tv also works with netflix! Plus it fits in the palm of your hand and only takes one cord to hook it up. You can also use any other apple device as a remove (your ipad, ipod, iphone, or comuter!) Man do I want one of these.

It is not mis-labeled. It is an Apple branded streaming media device. to get the full use out of it, you *should* have a subscription to iTunes and an Internet account.

Great auction...wish I was eligible...only level 6!

someonelse007

It says levels 16-99 users bid only. I can understand how to get to level 16 or even 20 or 30, but is there even anyone out there a level 99???

someonelse007

http://www.listia.com/leaderboard/xp looks like the highest level person is a 90 currently.

listia

To add to your level question someoneelse007, im only level 6, would it block me from trying to bid on this? i don't really understand how these "leveled" auctions work- since they are usually so long, what if my level changes... like what if i was a 5 and bid on a level 5-8 auction but by the time it was done, i was a level 10? lol, confused!

moquinje

if you bid on the auction while you were in the previous tier you can still win the item.
