25 Alexandrite-Colored 9 mm x 6 mm Czech Glass Teardrop Tear Drop Beads Translucent - Amazing Color-Shifting Beads, Change between Purple and Blue - Calif: Adding these attractive wonderfully alexandrite-colored teardrop beads to jewelry, bookmark, wine glass charm, cell phone charm, dreamcatcher, or suncatcher designs will help the resulting piece set the mood for one of many seasonal events, such as Easter, Spring, and Summer, and special celebrations. Or perhaps alexandrite might be part of your school's colors, and these could be added to a fine Back-to-School item. This set includes 25 translucent alexandrite color-shifting drop beads, depending on the lighting, and angle of lighting. I tried to show those two colors in the photo in this listing. The hole on each bead runs horizontally through its narrow end (as may be shown in the photo in this listing). All of these beads are three dimensional (3D) and are about 1/4" across, and just under 3/8" at their tallest.

These teardrop beads would make a fine present for the creative jewelry-maker in your life (including you!), one who is a fan of Easter, Spring, Summer, alexandrite, School Spirit, and blue- and/or purple-themed jewelry.

Want an Easy, Elegant way to Attach These Beads to Your Designs?: 4mm triangular jumprings are great for these! I will be listing some soon.

do they change color when they are moved?

A very good question! Since we have all sorts of different lighting in our place, I took a package of these beads to areas with regular old-style lightbulbs, as well as halogens, the new high-efficiency bulbs, and even an LED desk lamp. Under the old-style regular bulbs they appear as the shade of purple shown in the photo in this listing. Under halogen light they appear as a slightly more reddish-purple. In the light produced by the newer high-efficiency bulbs, they appear as the shade of blue shown in the photo. And, they appear as a purple with a bit more bluish coloring (pretty intense color in that light). At one point I held the package up inbetween two different types of light sources and could see that they did tend to change back and forth in color as I moved it around. Since it is nighttime here now, I can't check at the moment to see what sunlight will do with their color. Hope this info is helpful. :-)

Oops...one sentence wasn't fully completed in my last post here. It was the LED lighting that gave these beads the "And, they appear as a purple with a bit more bluish coloring (pretty intense color in that light)".

I went outside on our porch to see what they look in sunlight...however, it is cloudy here today. In that light they look more a more delicate shade of purple. I was really wondering how their color would appear in sunlight. Went back inside...and poof! The sun poked out through the clouds just now! :-) In that light they look mostly that delicate shade of purple, but as I moved them around and held them up at different angles, the blue faded in and out subtly. :-)

do you know if they have any holes in them or how i can put them on my head piece?

Yes, they do have one hole each, which runs horizontally through the bead's narrow end (which can be seen in the photo). The best way I have found to prepare this type of bead to be attached to jewelry, or pretty much anything, is to use a triangular jumpring, and then add either a round jumpring, thread, or stretch cord, etc., to attach it to the item you want to include it on. I have a listing up now for 4mm sized triangular jumprings, which work very nicely with this style/size of bead. To find that, type in "mythroan" into the Listia Search and you will see all of my listings. Look for the 4mm Triangular Jumprings. I don't have a listing for the round jumprings at the moment, but could start one up tonight. If you are interested, please let me know.
