Description
The listing, ** 2 Old Honus Wagner Baseball Cards (WHAT?) ** has ended.
2 old Honus Wagner cards. Of course the T206 is a reprint! I wish I had a card worth 2.5 MIILLION dollars.
1909 -1911 Piedmont #T206 Glossy REPRINT.I have no idea who the actual manufacturer of this card since there are many company's that created reprints. On the bottom of the back it says "FACTORY No.25 24 DIST VA." This card is in terrible condition but still it's fun if you know the history.
The other card is 2000 Upper Deck #52 "why 3K?" card. This card is Mint.
Questions & Comments
a lot of those cards came in cigarette packs way back when
It's actually 2D district. The D is lower case, and it's over a dot. That's a reprinted portion of the card, actually; Piedmont backs generally have Factory #25 2d District on back. The info you're looking for is under the ink scribble. I have a feeling this is a Dover reprint; they were printed in the late 1970s until the mid 1980s in a book that was filled with reprinted cards bound together with assorted typed of perforation (depending on which year the book was printed); the books were designed to get kids interested in card collecting and featured lots of the most famous baseball cards. Looked a lot like a hobby or activity book. I had one, and yes, it did help influence me to collect.
Thanks for the info. I was told that this particular reprint was somewhat expensive in MINT condition. There are so many reprints over the years so it makes it hard for me to identify.
