Fresh this year! 50+ Clematis seeds from my from my gorgeous plant. The flowers have a very pretty but slight scent. This type of clematis blooms really good in full sun, but also in partial shade. Mine grows facing the South East, but I keep it on my veranda trellis, so it's about 12 feet tall right now; however it will keep growing if left uncut. I've seen this type grow up to 35 feet.

I am in Zone 5, but these beauties can be grown from zones 4 thru 11! Will sprout new growth on the last year's seemingly dead growth! I allowed mine to do that this year and it got more full than I have ever seen it and in early spring, a Cardinal built a nest in the old growth! I just let the new growth cover it to protect it from the elements a little better.

Remember to plant a compatible plant at it's feet that will grow to about 7 to 18 inches to shade the roots. I use Hosta and it works great! As a gift, I will also include some Hosta seeds!!
