The listing, National Defense Medal Plus has ended.

National Defense Medal issued to me in 1968 at the end of basic training everybody got one the others are unit citations the blue one is the Army Presidential unit citation the red one is the Army Meritorious unit citation and the red white and blue one is the Army Valorous unit citation these were awarded to whole units for being part of a large operation

yep i got one too in 1972 i did not get the medal just the red and yellow strip

Yes when I was in they only gave use the ribbon too but over the 6 years I was in there were the medal laying around everywhere that you could just pick up
