Maybe somebody can answer this for me. I have always wondered the point of Darksteel Relic, I mean other than the fact that it is Indestructable it does nothing????

i discovered another use for it you use it on Beast Within see here:
can i cast Beast Within on darksteel relic just to put creature on battlefield?
and you get 3/3 creature without having to destroy your permanent since its indestructible.
AND OF COURSE It turns on metalcraft, triggers your Smiths.
