WoW! tough question.... only because now i'm a little overcautious about cleaning anything antique (if you take a look at my current old brass bell auction and read the comments, you'll see why this is) as it looks right now is: never been used (like the powder applicator thingy you apply to face is in new condition, the lipstick holder has not had anything in it, etc.) there are maybe 2 or 3 small, very LIGHT, super fine, hairline scratches seen through a jewelers loop on the inside on top of the powder compartment; aside of that i don't see any other flaws inside. the outside has a couple of darker spots on the metal if you look up close that appear to be tarnish and could come out w/cleaner but i'm not going to try because apparently tarnish increases value, according to people on my bell auction, but i only see a few. overall, i, personally, would rate this as a very high 8 or low 9, especially considering it's age. but i'm not an expert hope this helps
thank you for your comment. this is really neat... i was, originally, going to keep it but i know i won't ever actually use it and since i've been trying very hard to "un-clutter" my life (lol) i decided to release it into the listia world
I actually collect these sweet purses. Most know these as dance purses and as you can imagine, it was easily carried while you danced so that you were never without your necessities. Also you had some money in the case if you got ditched or stranded somewhere and you could get home. This one looks by the pictures to be in excellent condition and have all but the pressed powder and lipstick. One thing I do find curious is it doesn't seem to have a mirror. Did it when you found it or did you not take a picture of the other side? Because both sides should open. I would like to see a picture of the mirror please. f & W
Sorry, the pics wouldn't come up when I said it earlier in the last comment. I do believe the mirror is gone in this one. I have the same exact one and it is made by ZELL of NYC.
