Description

The listing, Gutermann cotton thread!! Yes!! has ended.

Two full or nearly full LARGE spools of Gutermann brand cotton quilting thread!!! One black roll, one white roll. Both spools are listed as 876 yards (yowzer!), I think I used a tiny bit of the black but am pretty sure I didn't use the white. Even if I used both, you can see that they are barely used and largely completely full. Perfect for your hand finishing pleasure!!! Gutermann is VERY high quality thread. Auction is for BOTH spools!

What is the size of this thread? Not the yardage, the size...is it 50? Already fanned and watching this and another auction!

Sorry, I don't understand your question. It is just normal thread, but cotton not poly-cotton. Same size/width as I would use in my machine if that helps?

Your auction with the three spools: two of those say Size 50 on the end. That is normal sewing thread. Size 40 would be used for machine quilting instead of piecing. So that's what I mean by size. It should say on the other side of the spool...

This sort of thread is only used for hand sewing, not machine sewing and I've only seen it like this. But I will check them when I get home and let you know.

Must be handquilting thread, not machine piecing, probably size 40. But let me know if it says- thanks!!

It has C Ne 50 on the side but that's it. Nothing that says "size" per se.

oops, hit the wrong button, here is the scoop on the proxy system:

Proxy bidding is easy, just not well explained on this site. Before you bid, think in your head of what the max you would bid on that item is. Then make your bid be that much or maybe a little less, just in case. The system will only use enough of your bid to keep you the high bidder. So if the current bid is 100 and you think you would pay a max of 2000 credits, you can bid 2000 but the system will only take 101 to beat the current bid.

However! If the person who bid before you placed a max bid of 2100, you will automatically be outbid and the new current bid will be for 2001. But at least you will get your 2000 back ; ) Plus you will get a notice that you were outbid (if you have the Listia app on your smart phone, you will also get a notice on your phone if you have it set up for that).

Also, say you did bid that 2000 and it automatically bumps the bid up to, say 1800, then you know that the person before you had a max bid of 1799 or something like that. If it is close to auction end and/or you see that and decide instead you would pay a max of 3000, you can submit a new bid for 3000 and it will not change the current bid since you are the high bidder. You never bid against yourself. The system will just keep out- bidding everyone else until either you win the auction or someone else bids up to 3001.

Does that make sense? I hope so, but if not just tell me what doesn't make sense and I will clarify. It helps to look at a few auctions that are near their end and you can view the bid history. It will show what the max was of everyone who was outbid, but not the max of the current high bidder. Check out some of my auctions, there are multiple bids on most things so you can get a better feel for what I posted here. I do hope that helps! Thanks for asking!

Great explanation for the newcomers that may not understand the process or who have never bid on another site like ebay- well done!

I thank you. I have found quite a few people who don't know how this works. That is my only real complaint on this site: little to no explanation for most things. But I obviously figured it out haha!
