My mom says that these deal with the devil...is that true or did she lie to me

This is a difficult question to answer because I don't want to insult/contradict your mom or her beliefs. A "reading" of tarot cards involves arranging the cards into a layout and then the pictures on the cards selected are interpreted. When interpreted, these cards can provide insight into your personal life which can include: The struggles for personal strength, The quest for love, and Insight into your spiritual fulfillment and Predictions for the future. Since tarot card readings involve spirituality, religious people believe that tarot card readings are associated with witchcraft and therefore, associated with the devil. If your mom is a religious person, this might explain why your mom stated that tarot cards deal with the devil. I tried my best to answer this question. If anyone else can explain this better or has another opinion, please feel free to include your comments!! Thanks!

Uni, no offense to your mom is intended but I'm a blunt and straight forward person. Tarot cards are associated with witchcraft because 9 times outta 10 the people doing your reading are either witches that are in practice or people trying to get attention by claiming to be witches. They do not deal with the devil, Satan, Lucifer, out whatever your specific branch of religion calls him. They can however accurately ( 65-70% of the time) predict your future and it can be negative. I haven't had many negative readings for myself or someone else I did a reading for, but they do come up. I hope this has helped you a lil bit. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)
