I scored a big lot of kyanite that was cut in the 1800s, it's really powerful so I'll be binding it to my smudge wands until I run out.

Well, thank you right back, Zen_Gardener. That was a well composed answer, and got me to thinking. We all know that flame purifies, so, by inserting the kyanite into your smudge bundles, you are effectively adding an additional degree of purity to the stone. This would seem to be a positive gain with no corresponding negativity. The only way it might be in any way negative is if the fire were to destroy the stone, which it shouldn't (though I can't testify to the veracity of that, never having experimented with burning crystals, lol!). I find this to be an interesting development, and a clever innovation (unless you found this technique in your studies?).

The stones do not get burnt by the way, just use wands to the stone then add the wand end to your loose incense and use the stone for energy work or home protection.

Am I to take it that you are sewing kyanite fragments into your smudges for burning? 1st time I've heard of that...I am, of course, familiar with smudges concocted by bundling a variety of herbs, including sage, cedar, meadowsweet and rose, but it seems like you are talking about more of an incense rod or wand...can you expound more on your process, or at least the finished product?
