Description

The listing, BRACELET - **ART NOUVEAU** (NEW ART) WHITE TURQUOISE HEART CLIP ON STYLE BRACELET BNIB has ended.

This is a White Turquoise Stone Heart Clip on bracelet.
It fits up to a size 8 1/2" comfortablty.

These bracelets are hand crafted by decendants of the North American Nahua Indian Nation that now live in deep southern Mexico .

They are designed with Abalone shells, Turquoise, dried natural wild flowers etc. to create flowers, scenes etc.
The stones used are genuine..They do have a sterling sliver overlay...
Stamped Alpaca or Mexico..Taxeco

They are made out of german silver aka nickel silver, which in fact has no silver in the metals at all..see below...

Some items being listed are copper or brass..

This can be cleaned in regular jewelry cleaner without amonia...after cleaning rinse well and completely dry with soft cloth..
to store when you arent wearing it wrap in a paper towel or tissues and store in a ziplock baggie...(helps keep the oxidation minimal)...dry pack/baggie provided to help keep moisture out...

Some metals may be called 'silver' when, in fact, they are not (except in coloration). For example, nickel silver (also know as German silver) is an alloy consisting of about 60% copper, about 20% nickel, about 20% zinc, and sometimes about 5% tin (in which case the alloy is called alpaca). There is no silver at all in German/nickel/alpaca silver.

These pieces are lead free...

This jewelry is sold by a member of The Fair Trade Act and Green America and sponser for over 40 years..

i will also put their pledge on here as well ..once a bid is in place...
I have tried to make this understood what the item is what its made of and why...

if you have any questions I can try to answer them for you..i have several pieces I will be listing and all will have this same information...
Thank you for looking and good luck in your auctions and biddings...and if nothing else I hope all learned something new by looking at this... its a great effort on their part...

~~fan me I'll fan back~~

You need to look up the meaning of art nouveau!

ART...noun:

1. Art produced or intended primarily for utility, including jewelry, furniture, and other crafts.

2. Any of the art forms, such as pottery, weaving, or jewelry making, used to create such art.

Definition of NOUVEAU....adjective nou·veau \nü-ˈvō\ :

newly arrived or developed

The term Art Nouveau is used as a description of the beautiful art jewelry that is produced by hand. It is not a new word...Yes There is history in London, France, Germany, Russia and many more countries In Art Nouveau in the 1800's and up until WWI and then, as in now Art Nouveau was used as a desciption...and just to clearify all of this no where have I said this jewely was produced anywhere other than Mexico...I don't appreciate explaination points.. I do know exactly what I am giving away here and if you read the description I believe you will too.. thank you :))

Very beautiful bracelet! I especially love that they are hand crafted by descendants of the North American Nahua Indian Nation. During the 16th century, the two largest Nahua tribes (the Acolhuas of Texcoco and the Tepanec) joined forces with a migrating group from the north (the Chichimecas) to become what was known as the Aztecs. For 200 years, beginning in the early 1300's, the Aztecs ruled most of central ancient Meso-America from the city of Tenochtitlan, located in what is now the valley of Mexico. For many years the Nahua children were taught both Spanish and the mother language although in some villages the mother language has been lost. I have a fascination for Indian history of all tribes. It saddens me that a lot of their knowledge and practices will be forever lost as well as many tribes that have become extinct. Thanks for listing such a beautiful cultural item!!!!!

Thank you very much for this comment, It makes the information and time I invest worthwhile...I too have always been fasinated with the indian tribes...when I was a young child we lived in Clinton Oklahoma not far from the Arapaho and Cheyeene reservations thats where it all started (my fasination) lol anyway as long as there are decendants and people helping them we can only hope they will continue to survive...thanks again for sharing your knowledge:))

Good! I love that you do that, there are so many with no description at all, or just a name of what it is and you have to pull teeth to get them to answer a question. You lay it all out there and I'm sure some still find a question, I mean you can't answer them all in the description, but it's good you put as much as you can! It's so much more reader friendly if ya will and gets more people interested when they know more then just a picture. lol on talking to your great grand daughter comment, they probably think your young and dumb lol I swear some people crack me up! Good luck to ya! I hope this auction really is a huge success! Cute picture by the way..she looks like my grandson does with that look on her face like she knows it all? That is how he is..lol he's going to be 4 in April and he's a smarty pants lol mines in the pic with me here but it's over a year old. I need to get another one with him. Seems the pictures we take are not posting worthy we are either in our pj's or just Grandma ain't looking so good cuz he took the picture lol looking UP at me..you know those kind of pictures...NO POSTING! lmao

Great I am glad you didn't think I was being like him lol and it's fine, I'm used to browsing though and clicking on items that have certain words in it, so naturally I clicked here seeing Art Nouveau...I see Vintage like that but finally the ones that are not vintage are putting Vintage "Style" so it's clear in the title. This is a good thing they do to keep the tradition and the fact that it helps them keep their heritage alive. I'm half Cherokee and half Italian so half of me gets it lol just kidding all of me does! Kudos to them for keeping it alive! -`ღ´-

lol i can understand that and LOL on half haha...I in no way thought anything about your comment came close to him but sometimes I think that maybe some think they are talking to my great grand-daughter in the pic lol...I do have lengthy descriptions but I personally don't like surprises and I don't want to give any so I tell everything I can about every piece....thank you again and yes they have people helping them...I am proud to be involved as well :))

Go you! Very smooth handling of your Heckler! There was no part of anything he said that came across as reaching out to be kind & helpful. And he'll get everyone's attention that looks at this auction. Not because he used exclamation points, because his people skills are lacking & he's rude. I don't understand people like him. He must just be miserable all the time, & misery loves company so he's trying to upset you to bring u into his miserable little world. There are others in here just like him. They all need to get together & be nasty to each other. They could have their own little miserable club! I'm so glad you handled him. I've seen a few sellers get really upset by people like him. Another awesome auction by the way. I'll be hanging out for most of your auctions. You have great taste! F & W.

Thank you very much I appreciate your comments...lol at the miserable club and I agree...there was a time I used to block those people but it didn't take long before i realized I was giving them what they wanted lol so I chose to just leave them there and people can see ...I have seen some of the best behaviour as well as some of the worst on here but all in all again the best behaviour always wins :)) for everyone of the rudies there are 100 great and terrific people on Listia which is why I no longer let it get to me lol ..Once again Thank you and I'm for sure fanning you back:))

Hi, beautiful bracelet but your description does give a lot of info that got me even confused at first lol. I first saw the Art Nouveau and clicked on it before I saw the BNIB part, so I did get a bit confused. As far as what "wwwd" the first commenter on this auction said, I can understand what he was trying to convey but he/she should of been a bit more nicer in the way he put it. Art Nouveau was an Era generally people use to explain the time frame of which something was made as well as the styling. This era would be between 1895 - 1925 and not just jewelry... it was a style for furniture, art etc. At the time it was considered "New Art" From the previous short lived Era of Edwardian. If this bracelet is "NEW" then the title should also read something like Art Nouveau "Style" as not to confuse people and make them come here and see it's not from that era. I am not trying to be rude or telling you what to do, so please do not think that please! lol I was trying to explain what "wwwd" should of said, when he made his comment instead of just saying something short and snide like he did! This is a very beautiful piece! (I'm using my exclamation points exactly where I want to use them ha ha and I mean them) I wish you good luck on this auction, it should be a nice turn out of this one!!! ◕‿◕

Thank you for your comment and I do apologise if you got confused..The North American Nahua Indian tribe has been making this art jewelry for generations and this tradition is carried out to keep their heritage alive...Many years ago the style of this jewelry was given the name art nouveau and it continues today with that name...the movement you speak of was all but phased out by WW1, these people continued the tradition...Art Nouveau coined the name because of the style and designs the era was based around the popularity..
as far as wwwd i know what he was doing and its all good..
I am not trying to promote this as being from the era not at all . had this been from that era it would have been listed as collectable vintage/antique...yes it was also used in furniture, baskets, metals, pottery, silverware etc as well as jewelry which this auction is about...
The decendants of The North American Nahua Tribe still make and sell this jewelry today as Art Nouveau passed down from their ancestors..its not for me to change..
So I have confused anyone i apologise :)
