Copper/Coin Souvenir Ashtray - Chile

This little ashtray is a copper bowl with a Republica de Chile coin in the center. The coin shows no date; There is a picture of a Bird on it. Each 'cigarette rest' is also a Chilean coin. There is a man's profile on each coin, no date. The name beneath the picture appears to be B. O'Higgins. O'Higgins is quite an interesting man. Educated in Spain and England where he became a Mason, he fought for Chilean independence in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Above the picture is Republica de Chile.

I don't see how the coins are attached to the copper bowl.
The bowl measures 3 inches across. I did not attempt to clean it. There are no other marks or labels.
