Description

The listing, Vintage 1977 KA-BAR 1183 Folding/locking Razer sharp Pocket Knife w/Rosewood handle has ended.

This Vintage KA-BAR is 9 1/2 inches in total length open, the blade is 4 1/2 inches long and very sharp. The knife is rock solid, and made in the USA back when we took pride in the things we made. The rosewood handle is in great condition but if it were to be sanded and refinished you could bring it back to brilliant life. No Chinese knife can compare to this rock solid beast.

The locking mechanism is as strong as the day it was made and I stand behind the quality of this knife personally. There is no wiggle, no tolerance when locked. It literally is in wonderful shape mechanically. All she needs is a good polish.

GIN will be considered before bids are placed as long as it is a fair offer.

All Listia rules apply, please contact me if there is any issues before leaving feedback, I worked hard for a perfect score and I would like to keep it.

I spent 10 years as a custom knife maker here in Texas. My hand made knives sold for up to $500. I had to shut my shop down due to health reasons. I have seen the knife market from every angle. While I personally have some malicious views on low quality imports, I will say this. There are MANY levels of collectors, and they all start somewhere... mostly with the inexpensive, showy import stuff. Every knife has a place in the market, and every seller has to start at some level also. Scorpian and Danman... the best thing you can do for yourself is be honest about your product. Talitali... thank you for giving bidders a chance to win a piece of history in the form of a better than the Listia Normal knife. Now let's all get along.

That would mean a lot to me. His name was John Miller, I can get you his service ID if you like (if you win, etc) I have no issue with that. It would make me quite happy

My Dad served in Korea and I remember his knife well! It now belings to my oldest, who at 18 years old volunteered so he could fight in Iraq. After 8 years (and many prayers) he is home again.

This is a very nice knife and you said some great things pertaining to our vets, but I don't understand why you would trash on other people's auctions and particular tastes in the process. Some of us work very hard on here, selling those "cheap knives". I respect what you say about your father and other things, but I don't care for the cheap shots in an effort to score more bids.

I apologize if you took offense. I only meant it as a way to compare in my own opinion. What I said is not a fact because I have no proof. I speak only from my own experience. I have bought many of those Chinese and frost collection knives from here. Many have broken and I mean, they are like $2. I still apologize if I caused you any ill feelings. I only meant to proffer this so that the credits would go high so we could donate and help the Vietnam Vets. Thanks for commenting

Yea Dan, I hear you. But there is a lot of emotion here. I don't know if there was meanness here or not. Like I said it gets lost in the emotion of the minute. If your intent was meaness then you know how we feel. And if not and you just caught up in the emotions of the minute, well like Dan said we have nothing but respect for you and your family. And as always GOOD LUCK in this and in all of your endeavors. Hoo Rah

I had no malice in writing what I wrote. What I wrote came from my heart. Thank you for commenting.

Scorpian and Danman, I would like you to re-read what I wrote and notice that I said that it is Neither a cheap (which factually and fiscally they are) Frost knife, NOR was it a jeweled knife worth thousands. I hope you can see that I did not attest to the construction, but the monetary value of the knives. I buy them and sell them too. If you thought I was insulting your auctions then by contrast I would have been insulting all of the 500k auctions. Please see the reason I propose and accept my apologies if you are able to.

If you win I will make 100% sure that you say what the credits go for. I know we can donate on Listia I just do not know exactly how that works. If we cannot do that, I will write a check for the cash value of the credits (not the paypal value because that is just ridiculous) but I will put as much cash as I can muster in there in your name and show you the receipt
