will have to check your zoning but like any herbs spacing is important and not to over water and harvesting to dry hang upside down in dry room preferably with little moisture. i lay plastic or old paper bags under them to catch any that fall and tier string to label them. I gather the roots with rubber band and tie string and use clothes pin to hang the fresh herbs to but can use string to tie them to the string as well. then when completely dry can store in container or warp to make smudge stick( with sage)...hope that helps

I usually start my seeds in peet pot in the home. And when the weather is favorable I plant outside. I believe she has white sage seeds in her auction. Planting date varies on the region you live in.

here is some starter info to get them started inside. Start seeds indoors in early spring. Fill a planting tray or small pots with a seed-starting potting mix. Spread seeds on top of the potting medium and mist with water.

2

Place the seed tray or pots in a location that is room temperature. The seeds need a temperature range between 68 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit to germinate. White sage also needs light for germination.
3

Check the seeds regularly for moisture levels and sprouts. Water when the potting mix dries, but avoid making it soggy. Germination should take approximately 14 to 21 days.
4

Transplant seedlings to larger containers when they form true leaves. Keep the plants in a sunny location and water them when the soil dries completely. Allow excess water to drain from the containers.
5

Choose a location with well-drained soil and full sun for transplanting outside. Improve soil drainage as needed with amendments such as sand and compost mixed into the dirt. White sage will not grow well in soggy locations or in the shade.
6

Plant the white sage outside in the fall. Dig a planting hole with a trowel twice as wide as the root ball. Place the sage in the hole and backfill it with soil. Water thoroughly to settle the soil.

I know there is just something special when you are able to do home grown anything but making your own smudge sticks is an extra special thing only few of us can appreciate or are able to do. If you have never done one before...KEY IS PATIENCE lol
