It really does not matter much about the packaging. As long as it is not expired it really should not matter. Even if it is expired, it will still be good and allow someone to try the products. I cannot imagine that something that is a year or two old is going to make that much of a difference unless it has been left open and is not the right consistency anymore. Ladies, you are grown enough to make your own decisions here.
