The graded condition of the coin is AU 53 (au = almost uncirculated)
The highest a coin struck for circulation can get is MS 70 (ms = mint state)
MS numeric designations range from MS 60 - MS 70.
The next highest grading category is AU.
Numeric values assigned to AU coins are AU50, AU53, AU55, and AU58.
