Glad to be associate with one of the "good guys"! Folks - take note - Silvereagle here is someone I would buy from and I'm a GC dealer myself. He understands how to run a fair and legit auction and isn't trying to rip anyone off. Neither he, nor I, are responsible for the inflation of the cost of GC's. He's doing you a great service by offering you the change to choose your own gift card. I might even get in the game as there are certain cards I can't get. And if you see someone buying low priced gift cards and re-selling them, let us know so we can block them from out auctions! We can't be everywhere and watch everyone so we rely on feedback from our loyal customers for help! We both want to hold fair auctions that allow everyone to have a shot at winning. He offers something I can't - a choose your own card. But I have a different offering which I won't advertise here. Point being is that not all GC dealers are schmucks. Silvereagle and I are not. If I could figure out a way to hold an auction restricted to those with limited credits and still make a reasonable profit, I would do it in a heartbeat. Sadly, I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Ideas are welcome.

As you said, I hope all of our followers and buyers let us know the bindividuals that are relisting, but not only on here, but ebay and other auction sites as well. We will have to come up with some kind of an idea for the individuals that don't have alot of credits for GC's and other items... Again, thank you for the kind words.

Leslielow, I have that happened to be. I sell two giftcards at low bid, and mine was relisted for super high. 100,000 profit for the person. I started for a few months and quit on buying Amazon cards because cupcakemom and asdfy2000 stalks it, then sells it for huge amounts. Ebay, amazon, and ect. They are called giftcards pro on listia. I see people ask questions and they are rude and think they are smarter than you. I blocked them both. I hate people that takes advantage of others and mess it up for everyone. There is a course on the internet on reselling giftcards on listia. I wouldn't care what they do since I am not a gc dealer, but I can't stand rude people.

I don't like rude people either Claire65. I had the dealings with asdfgy2003, and they went smooth for me, but then, I saw that he relisted them. I have blocked him for the second time, but this time I am not going to unblock him, because I do these gift cards to be fair to everyone, and therefore do not put a GIN on the listing, so that everyone can bid and enjoy the fun. I also dislike people that take advantage of others.

Not to imply that it's your fault - just stating the facts of the matter with regard to GC's. I am a GC dealer too and I've tried to keep my GIN prices reasonable but then I hear that people buy them and re-sell them at higher rates. Which makes my blood boil. Nothing I can do about it but if I ever see anyone doing it, you can bet they will get banned from my auctions! Anyway - very nice auction - I like the ones where people get to choose what card they get!

It's not just gift cards. This one lady has no feedback, no auctions either bought or sold, been on since 2011 and she only ever comments Free shipping to Canada? I've come across her comments a lot and decided I don't need her comments on every single auction. Another asks about Free shipping to Mauritius because they can't get Minions there.. Yet her feedback as a buyer is all negative because she bids and then refuses to pay s/h... Blocked her too. There's no clear and easy way to know who's who on here, just to make the best judgement possible and avoid the bad situation altogether. Or face relisting fees and wasted time and money, which can be avoided if you see a 12 year old kid trying to bid or ask about your stuff and their feedback is all negative. There's a badge for flagging folks auctions that you can get.. So perhaps that's what they're after. I've only flagged one because the profile picture was a pen*s tip.. That was my third day on here.. Who wants to see that?! Gross and disrespectful. After I did that a few days later I got a message saying thanks for helping keep Listia clean and this badge will be yours the more you flag bad accounts and fake listings.
I haven't flagged anything since. Just blocked. I'm hopeful this site will remain fun and I can get folks what they need and like and I can do the same. Thanks for your reply :)

Good comment info on the bad folks on here.. I've only been on a month and have come across some crazy rude people.. I have already blocked 86 for rude comments or ridiculous messages or just too many stupid questions on an auction and they have bad feedback. I do love this site and wished that I had signed up two years ago when my friend told me about this site. Yay Listia!!
Plus why is there an allotment of two GC per week? Because of the bad folks that flip them?

I sell eBay cards for quick credits. I try to be the lowest, sometimes I attempt to get more if there's something I want. But I'm on disability so I can't afford to blow a ton of money on gift cards. I specialize in cool jewelry, movies and music stuff.

I agree with leslielowdermilk I do not even know her but the same thing has happened to me. It made me furious thinking I was doing someone a favor, but when she sold the same item for 3 times as much, I nearly cried. I sell gc's too so I know it hurts to be fair and honest. :)

Many people buy on Listia and sell on Ebay, I sometimes do the opposite. Sometimes I find a lot of 6 super hero action figures on Ebay for $5 with no shipping. I buy them on Ebay and sell them individually on Listia where they are appreciated as collectibles.

I agree, but when it comes to getting gift cards, I don't think people should do that. I have gotten stuff off ebay and listed on other auction sites as well, but have never done that with a gift card.

When I buy gift cards I either use them myself within a few days or I give them as gifts to my sons, I would never re-sell a GC because I am not interested in doing that. I have noticed that the selling price of GCs has been increasing enormously. Yesterday I bid 600,000 on a $100 GC. I was later outbid by 50 points. So, I raised my bid to 700,000. I was the high bidder for a short time. Someone outbid me by 50 points again. I was going to bid 750,000, but I gave up because that would be crazy. I could spend 750,000 on many other things.
IMHO you should use a GIN for GCs, but make it enormously high. As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, some Listians have thousands of points, but they do not want to buy anything that is listed on Listia other than GCs.
I always use a GIN, but I sell small used toys and books, not GCs.
Several buyers have mentioned to me that they plan to re-sell the item on Ebay. I am OK with that, but it means that I listed the item at a price that was too low. I now have very high prices on some of my good items, but I mention that every buyer can Make an Offer. So we negotiate a price.

If I sell something for really low, I'll kinda keep an eye on the person that I sold it to and see if it shows up on their auctions. If it does, then I'll just quietly ban them, unless they've been a really loyal customer, in which case, I'd ask first. But I try to keep my eyes and ears open and ask others to do the same and if they get wind of someone re-selling my cards to let me know. I can't stop them from moving on to another dealer but I can stop them from using me. I try to be fair. At one point, I tried keeping all of my GINs at no more than 5x and in exchange, asked that the buyer pay $2.50 for postage. Oh the outcry was unbelievable. I couldn't believe it. People will step over a dollar to pick up a dime! They would go and spend MORE credits on the same card that offered free shipping. So I essentially gave up on that idea. Now that I use PayPal to ship it's a little better but the outcry really stunned me. I guess you can't please everyone all the time. So now, I sometimes offer a GIN, sometimes not. Sometimes do just a GIN, sometimes not. Mix it up to keep everyone equally irritated. :) The one thing I do consistently is deliver. As you do as well. And that what people really care about.

I am so happy I stumbled across you guys, We have been saving all of our points so we could get gift cards and use them for Christmas gifts as we are living on social security and we do not have enough money for the bills not to mention buying gifts. We have been afraid to bid on gc as I thought that they may be stolen, and we wanted real plastic cards not e cards. I find it hard to comprehend that someone would offer up real gc's that are valid. Never having bid on them I am still wondering if the whole thing is real. I would be giving you a lot of points for a gc that I can give to my grandson for Christmas,. Do they have expiration dates? After reading the posted messages I am beginning to feel that if I buy from you the card would be a good plastic card, not stolen, and safe to use. Thanks for all the messages, I know this sounds corny but I have been real upset about not being able to do Christmas and the messages I have read gives me new hope. Also I never knew there was such a business as a gc dealer.

all the gift cards I do are real plastic cards and as far as expiration dates go, I don't know if they have any. I would be happy to find out for you, and I hope that you do have a good Christmas. There are a few of us that do the regular cards and not the e cards, and there are some that actually do both. Leslielowdermilk is another trusted member of Listia that does gift cards as well.

I have fanned and am watching. I have discovered in the last 3 years that GIN's and actual bids have inflated so much it makes it almost impossible to get one. If everyone refused to pay the ridiculous GIN's, perhaps the overall trend would stop or even backup. When I see a Gift Card for 20, 30 or 40x;s the face value, I have to just have to wonder if this trend is opportunistic listing or plain old greed at work. I used to List 25.00 Amazon cards for 28,888. I felt like I made some and the winner got a good deal. Would dearly love to see that kind of fairness come back to Listia.

That being said, I wish you the very best on your auction. It is a breath of fresh air to see someone start their auction low enough so anyone can bid. :)

I know that some are taking advantage by low ballers, but one way to keep this from happening for some is to do a raffle, probably come out a lot higher and some of us with low credits could have a chance.
