The listing, Vintage Antique West German Fairy Tale Puzzle Blocks Nice Condition has ended.

Up for consideration is a really nice set of fairy tale puzzle blocks. They depict six different fairy tales including Hansel and Gretel and Puss 'n Boots. There are accompanying printed pictures for five tales, one is missing. I cannot find any manufacturer information, but based on my research, they were made in West Germany in the 1950s.

The blocks are in good condition--the paper covering the wood is a little bumpy, but there are no tears or other obvious flaws. The box is intact, but the hinge at the back is a little weak. The blocks are bright and colorful and would make a nice addition to a primitive or shabby chic decor theme.

I made some of these for my sister when she was studying education ~ my dad made the wooden blocks and i illustrated them. :o)

Cool! What designs did you put on the blocks? It would have fun to make some puzzle blocks when my kids were little.

Jean asked me to do the seasons; so for each season i had to draw what would come 1st,2nd,3rd &4th. Spring ,Summer, Fall & Winter.Mostly i remember her asking me just a couple days before her project was due....so i was drawing nonstop!
I was also teaching full time.....they turned out well tho, i guess her professor wanted to keep them. :o)
