Description

The listing, Red Weeping Willow Bottlebrush Tree! has ended.

Talk about a beautiful tree. My tree is over 20 years old, huge, and certainly the focal point of anyone's yard. Each seed pod actually contains HUNDREDS of seeds, so you have the opportunity here to plat yourself a Willow Bottle Brush Forest with these pods! Huge 6" Red blooms that attract butterflies and hummingbirds regularly! Grows like a tree out of a Dr. Seuss book! Very prolific here in West Coast Central Florida! Winner receives 10+ pods.

Some info from the County Extension office on Red Willow Bottlebrush:

The “bottlebrush” belongs to the genus Callistemon, which means “beautiful stamens”. There is no doubt that it is a perfect description of the bright red flower spikes. This small tree is native to Australia and belongs to the Myrtle family which includes Eucalyptus, guava, Surinam-cherry, Rose-apple and Myrtle. Hummingbirds frequently visit their flowers. The weeping bottlebrush has become a very popular garden specimen in Florida, California and Hawaii. The lemon bottlebrush, with leaves that have a citrus scent when crushed, is also used extensively in Florida, more commonly in north Florida than in the southern part of in the State. The showy bottlebrush is more appreciated because of the longer flower spikes that can be up to six inches in length and have gold tips on the stamens.

Thanks and best of luck!
