When Pope Benedict XVI resigned in 2013, Bergoglio was elected the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church & chose the name Francis in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. In the short time Pope Francis has served as pontiff, he has been celebrated for his modesty and genuine affection for all. All his efforts has made him well-known all over the world.

The coin is displayed in a sealed capsule to prevent damage to the coin. The coin is made of Copper (Cu)- not silver and is layered over in 24k Gold. The highest minting as a quality PROOF finish. The coin measures 70 mm or 2.75 inches in diameter and about a 1/4 inch thick and weighs 110 grams or 3.88 ounces.. The coin comes with a certificate of authenticity and retails at about $130.
