Another thought is selenite as it carries light when waved back & forth..If "thread" in crystal is dark then it might be rutilated quartz but selenite is very clear also but lines would be more white....Regardless it is a stunner like all your other crystals..Still carrying the "window" one you sent me :)

Wow!!..I'm wondering if this is an Iceland Spar optical calcite/quartz since you can see thru it..Does it have "hair" like threads on inside?? Started the bidding :)

It's a Ulexite or "TV Stone" The optical effect made by a Television Stone is caused by each of its individual fibers acting as fiber-optic cables, transmitting light from one surface to the other. Since all the fibers are parallel and compacted together, any image at below is transmitted through each crystal fiber to the top surface. Ulexite is a crystal for understanding in new ways the events and circumstances of your life. It creates a connection with your Third Eye Energy Center which promotes easy access to your intuitive gifts of clairvoyance. It kind of is used discover the shortcuts, rest stops, and enjoyment along the way and can be an important reminder to enjoy the journey.

Its calcite. very nice piece. defantly not Ulexite aka "TV Stone" the way to tell Ulexite is 1. from the side you will see the fiber tubes and it will be opaque. From the polished sides ( usually top and bottom) will be semi-transparent usually with black and white inclusions. and 2 the best way to tell, when you place the polished side onto printed words or picture the image will appear to float on top of the stone (not just seen through the stone) also just to clarify Ulexite is a borate mineral and not related to selenite which is a form of gypsum. :-)

This also looks to be a norwegian sun crystal. It was used by vikings on the seas to show the way even in the storms. Great item!
One was found in wreakage but was ruined by saltwater.
