I had to get my MacBook replaced. $2000 replacement. The flashing folder, they told me, indicates that the drive has un-mounted.... Anyways, long story short, took a few months of pulling out my hair and stress, but apple is sending me a new one because I bought AppleCare :)

"Mmoye9"- that's what I did. Ended up wiping my hard drive memory (wth?) and had to do it again and again. Even had apple replace it (along with multiple other parts including the logic board- TWICE. All in all, would have been over the cost of two more MacBooks if it wasn't for the $980-worth in insurance via AppleCare (4-years worth) and the geek squad protection

You said you bought this on here BUT, when I went to check to see how much you paid, there was nothing. I went back five months worth of items you bought. No MacBook found.

Ahhhh!!!! I KNOW WHAT happened! This is basically useless. Mine did that same thing "question mark on flashing folder." They replaced my hard drive only to find out, it was an even bigger issue
