Description

The listing, Canadian "victory" nickel set - Morse code around rim! has ended.

1943, 1944 & 1945 "victory"
To help promote the war effort, this design consists in a central "V", meaning both victory and the facial value with the inscription "CENTS" underneath flanked by two maple leaves, on which is superimposed a torch, with on both sides a part of the year and above the inscription "CANADA". Around the rim is the Morse code message "We win when we work willingly"

2005
Reproduction of the victory nickel

*note about the 1943 nickel*

Because nickel is so important for producing war materials, tombac (a type of brass) was used as a replacement. The coin was given its 12-sided shape so as not to be confused with the penny
